It all started now more than 20 years ago. My girlfriend at the time loved Cary Grant movies. We would drink wine and laugh at his antics -- and appreciate his charm and style.
I would playfully mimic his elegant way of walking, the smart way he held himself and his dashing smile.
Back then, I often traveled and spent much time in airports. One day, I decided to walk from one gate to the next just as Cary would have done.
I found it hilarious. And, it developed into a fun little habit. My secret. A way to use my imagination to pass time, just as I had done so often as an only child.
Then 20 years passed. One day, as I walked in the door at work, the receptionist stopped me. She put her finger to her mouth, thinking, and then said, "Mike, has anyone ever told you that you walk just like Cary Grant..."
I was speechless. Then, I explained about the little game that I had played so long ago.
Your stride is said to be so unchangable it can be used as your fingerprint. But I had changed mine -- without any effort. Just by playing.
These days, we call that "beginner's Neuroscience".
Come Play with Us. You will have the time of your Life...
